X Video Kickstart Bonus: what the invite is worth
X pays a flat bonus for 15 vertical videos on 15 days, with no view target. Here is how the amount is set before you post, and the three ways to lose it.

The short version
- ▸It is an invite-only pilot with no performance bar. You do not need views, likes or a follower threshold during the period. You need 15 qualifying videos posted on 15 different calendar days, and that is the whole test.
- ▸Your bonus amount is decided before you post anything. X sets it from your total follower count across X and other platforms at the time you are invited, fixes it for the whole program, and shows it only in your invitation and in Creator Studio.
- ▸Both goals have to land together. Fifteen videos across ten days fails. Twenty videos across fourteen days fails. Extra videos on a day you already posted add nothing.
- ▸The quiet prize is not the cash. Enrolling fast-tracks you into Original Content Rewards, whose normal gate is 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in 90 days, and it includes Premium+ free for a year if you do not already have it.
- ▸A video that shows as qualified can still be disqualified in the final review, including by a Community Note rated Helpful, a rights-holder claim, or you deleting the post before the period ends.
Quick answer
The X Video Kickstart Bonus is an invite-only pilot that pays a flat cash bonus for posting 15 of your own vertical videos, each under 3 minutes, on 15 different calendar days inside a period of about a month. There is no view target, no engagement target and no follower threshold to clear during the period. Your amount is fixed before you start, set by your follower count across X and other platforms at the time of the invite, and paid with your next Original Content Rewards payout.
Last updated: November 2026
X's help page for the program was already live on 15 October 2026. Most coverage caught up in the first week of November, which is why almost everything written about it so far repeats the same four sentences from the announcement and misses the parts that decide whether the invite is worth your month.
The first X payout that does not care how you perform
Every other way to earn on X (formerly Twitter) is a performance program. Original Content Rewards pays on qualified impressions and will not let you in until you have 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the trailing 90 days. Creator Subscriptions pays when someone chooses to pay you. Ads pay on reach.
Video Kickstart pays on attendance.
Read the earning condition again: 15 qualifying videos, 15 different posting days, videos still up at the end of the period. Nothing in that sentence mentions views. A video that gets 40 impressions counts exactly as much as one that gets 400,000. For a creator who has been stuck below the Original Content Rewards impression gate for months, that is a different kind of offer, and it is the reason the program is invite-only rather than open.
Your bonus is set before you post the first clip
This is the detail buried deepest in X's page, and it is the one that should shape your decision.
Your bonus amount is based on your total number of followers across X and other platforms at the time you are invited. Each follower range has a set bonus amount, and yours stays the same for the whole program.
Three things follow from that.
The amount is a band, not a formula. You are placed in a follower range on the day the invite is sent, and the number is frozen there. Growing during the period does not move you up. Nor does posting 40 videos instead of 15.
Your other platforms count. X is pricing the audience you could bring with you from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, not the audience you already have here. That tells you exactly who the pilot is aimed at: creators with an off-platform following and a thin X presence.
X does not publish the table. The amount appears in your invitation and in Creator Studio and nowhere else. Figures have circulated in creator posts since the announcement; none of them are confirmed by X, and with banded amounts, any single screenshot only describes one band. Treat a specific number you see quoted as one person's band, not the program's rate.
The two goals, and the arithmetic that fails people
You need both goals in the same period. X's own worked examples are unusually blunt about the ways this goes wrong:
| What you do | Result |
|---|---|
| 15 qualifying videos, one on each of 15 days | Bonus earned |
| One video every other day for 30 days | 15 videos on 15 days, bonus earned |
| 5 days in a row, a break, then 10 more days | Days need not be consecutive, bonus earned |
| 15 videos all on the same day | 15 videos, 1 posting day, no bonus |
| 30 videos across 10 days | No bonus |
| 20 videos across 14 days | No bonus |
A posting day is a calendar day in Pacific Time, which matters more than it sounds if you post late at night from Europe or Asia. A video that lands at 00:30 CET on Tuesday is still Monday in Pacific Time, and it will land on the same tile as the clip you posted at lunchtime.
There is a second timing trap: only videos posted after you enroll count. Enrollment has its own deadline inside each period, so the gap between the invite arriving and you tapping Enroll is time you cannot get back. If a period runs about 30 days and you enroll on day 10, you are fitting 15 posting days into 20.
What counts, and the eleven ways a video does not
A qualifying video is vertical at 9:16, under 3 minutes long, created by you, and posted from the enrolled account inside the period. Reposting your own TikTok or Instagram clip is explicitly allowed, which is the point of the program.
What does not count, per X's list:
- Content that is not your own
- A video downloaded from another X account and reuploaded
- A repost or quote post of someone else's video
- Anything carrying another platform's watermark, name or logo
- A video claimed by another rights holder
- A duplicate of a video you already posted
- A video showing a Community Note rated Helpful
- A paid partnership or third-party sponsored post
- Anything with inauthentic engagement, such as purchased views
- Anything violating the X Rules or the Creator Monetization Standards
- Landscape or square video, or anything 3 minutes or longer
Two of those deserve more attention than the rest.
Watermarks are the practical trap. X's own tip is to upload the original file from your camera roll or cloud folder rather than a copy saved out of another app, because saved copies usually carry the watermark. A TikTok export with the bouncing handle in the corner is a disqualified video that will still look fine in your feed.
Sponsored work is the expensive exclusion. If you already have brand deals, the sponsored clips you were going to post anyway do not count toward the 15, and adding the paid partnership label on X is what flags them. You need 15 unsponsored videos on top of your commercial slate.
Three ways to lose a bonus you thought you had
Creator Studio shows a running count of qualifying days out of 15. X says plainly that the tracker is an estimate, that it can take up to 48 hours to update, and that the numbers shown are not a guarantee of payment. After the period closes, every video is reviewed again.
A video that passed during the period can fail at the end if:
- A Community Note rated Helpful appears on it. Community Notes are written and rated by other contributors, on their schedule, not yours. A note that lands in the last week of the period can remove a video you posted in the first.
- A rights holder claims it. Background music in a clip you shot yourself is the common version of this.
- You delete it. The videos have to stay up through the end of the period. Switching the account to protected does the same thing, because the posts become hidden.
Deleting is the trap that catches careful people. The instinct after a video flops is to pull it down. Inside a Kickstart period, deleting a flop costs you a posting day you have already spent.
Premium+ for a year, and a fast-track X does not define
Cash is only part of what the invite carries. X lists two more benefits:
Premium+ free for one year, if you do not already have it. At X's listed web price that tier is $40 a month, or $395 on the annual plan, so the subscription alone is worth more than some of the likely bonus bands. Our breakdown of the X Premium price has the full ladder and the in-app markup.
A fast-track into Original Content Rewards, so your videos keep earning after the pilot ends.
Be careful with the second one. X says you "will be fast-tracked into the Original Content Rewards Program" and does not say what that means mechanically. It does not say the 500 verified followers and 500,000 impression thresholds are waived, and it does not say they are enforced. If the invite is the thing that gets you past a gate you could not clear on your own, the pilot is worth far more than the bonus. If "fast-track" turns out to mean a quicker review of a normal application, it is worth nothing to an account below the bar. Ask in Creator Studio before you plan your quarter around it.
One thing X is clear about: the bonus does not change your Original Content Rewards earnings. The two are separate pools. Payouts run through X Money for US creators and a connected Stripe account for everyone else, and the bonus rides along on your next regular Original Content Rewards payout rather than arriving on its own.
If you have not been invited
There is no application form, so the only useful preparation is to look like the creator the pilot is selecting for: an off-platform video audience, a real posting cadence on X, and no monetization violations on the account.
That 15-on-15 shape is worth copying whether or not an invite ever lands. Fifteen posting days a month is roughly every other day, which is a sustainable cadence rather than a sprint, and vertical clips under 3 minutes are the format X has been pushing all year through the video composer and the overlay tools. X's broader video length limits are far more generous than 3 minutes, but the bonus tells you which shape the product team is actually promoting right now.
If the bottleneck is finding time to post consistently rather than making the videos, that is a scheduling problem, and X-Autopilot runs your posting cadence from your own Mac rather than a shared cloud pool. It will not make you eligible for a pilot you were not invited to, and no tool can. It can keep a 15-day streak from dying in week two.

What is the X Video Kickstart Bonus?+
An invite-only pilot program that pays a creator a flat bonus for posting their own short-form vertical videos on X. Post 15 qualifying videos on 15 different days inside a program period of about a month and you earn that period's bonus, paid out with your next Original Content Rewards payout. X's help page went live by 15 October 2026.
How much does the Video Kickstart Bonus pay?+
X does not publish the number. The help page says your amount is based on your total number of followers across X and other platforms at the time you are invited, that each follower range has a set amount, and that yours stays the same for the whole program. You see it in your invitation and in Creator Studio. Specific dollar figures circulating in creator posts are unverified, because the band table is not public.
What counts as a qualifying video?+
A vertical 9:16 video, under 3 minutes long, that you created, posted from your enrolled account after you enrolled and inside the period. Videos you already published on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube count, provided they are yours and carry no other platform's watermark, name or logo.
Can I post all 15 videos in one day?+
No. Each calendar day in Pacific Time counts as one posting day no matter how many videos you post on it. X's own example is explicit: 15 qualifying videos on a single day gives you 15 videos and 1 posting day, which does not earn the bonus.
What happens if I delete one of my videos?+
It stops counting. Your qualifying videos have to stay up through the end of the period, and the same applies if the account is switched to protected so the posts become hidden. Deleting a video that underperformed can drop you below 15 after you thought you were done.
Can I join the Video Kickstart Bonus without an invite?+
No. Invitations are sent directly to selected creators, and the program only appears in Creator Studio once you have one. If you miss an enrollment deadline you may be able to join when the next period opens, but there is no public application form.
