The short version

  • ▸Creator Studio is a hub in your left sidebar on x.com and in the account menu on mobile. It pulls monetization, analytics, payout settings and Premium support into one place instead of four settings screens.
  • ▸The tab that matters most changed name. Creator Revenue Sharing stopped taking new enrolments on 7 August 2026 and was retired on 7 September 2026, with a final payout around 11 September. Original Content Rewards replaced it.
  • ▸To apply for Original Content Rewards you need an active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription, 500 verified followers, and 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. Reply impressions do not count.
  • ▸Payouts run every two weeks with a $30 minimum. US creators get paid through X Money; everyone else connects Stripe and completes ID verification.
  • ▸The program rules ban using tools or bots to artificially generate likes, follows, views, comments or shares, and ban content created by automated means. Read that before you point any automation at an account you are trying to monetize.

Quick answer

X Creator Studio is the hub in your sidebar where X now keeps monetization, analytics, payout settings and Premium support. Open it from the left sidebar on x.com, or from your profile icon menu on iOS and Android. The most important tab inside is no longer Revenue Sharing: X retired that program on 7 September 2026 and replaced it with Original Content Rewards, which you apply to from Creator Studio once you hold Premium, 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in 90 days.

TL;DR

Creator Studio is not a new product so much as a new front door. Everything in it existed before, buried across separate settings pages. What makes it worth learning now is that X moved the payout machinery behind it and then changed the payout program underneath. Most guides to Creator Studio were written in December 2025 and still describe a "Revenue Sharing status" tab that no longer exists.

This page covers where Creator Studio lives on each platform, what each tab actually shows, what replaced Revenue Sharing and on what dates, the exact eligibility numbers X publishes, how payouts reach you, and where automation collides with the program rules.

Where Creator Studio is, on each platform

On the web, Creator Studio sits in the left navigation on x.com. If your sidebar is collapsed or short, it is one level down under the more icon. On the iOS and Android apps, tap your profile picture in the top corner to open the account menu, then pick Creator Studio.

X shipped the mobile entry point in December 2025. Social Media Today noted at the time that all of it was already available on the desktop site and the change was about making it reachable on a phone (Social Media Today, 21 December 2025). That matters for one practical reason: if a guide tells you Creator Studio is mobile-only, it is describing the announcement rather than the product.

You need a creator-facing account to see anything useful in it. A brand-new account with no monetization eligibility will still open the hub, but most panels will read as not eligible rather than showing numbers.

What is inside each tab

TabWhat it showsNotes
MonetizationProgram eligibility and estimated earningsNow headed by Original Content Rewards, not Revenue Sharing
SubscriptionsCreator Subscriptions eligibility and subscriber activitySeparate program with its own bar to clear
AnalyticsImpressions, follower growth, post performanceSame data as the native analytics dashboard
Payout settingsX Money (US) or Stripe (non-US), ID verification stateVerification happens here, before any payout
InspirationTop performing posts on X globally, by day, week or monthSortable by likes, replies and shares
SupportDirect contact for Premium subscribers, plus Help Center linksThe fastest support route X offers

Two of those deserve a caveat.

Analytics in Creator Studio is a convenience view, not a new data set. It is the same impressions and follower numbers you get from the native dashboard, so if you are trying to work out which posts actually earned their reach, the longer read on X analytics applies unchanged.

Inspiration is the one tab where the criticism is fair. It surfaces the best performing posts on X globally over a period, which in practice means large accounts with enormous followings. Without a filter for account size or niche, "what went viral worldwide this week" is entertainment more than a content strategy input. Treat it as a trend feed, not a template library.

The program that replaced Revenue Sharing

This is the part that has broken every older guide, and the dates are worth having straight.

  • 7 August 2026: X stopped accepting new enrolments into Creator Revenue Sharing. The Original Content Rewards Program Terms took effect the same day.
  • 7 September 2026: Creator Revenue Sharing was retired.
  • Final payouts: members enrolled at the time received payouts on 14 August and 28 August on the normal schedule, plus a final payout for earnings accrued through 7 September, expected on or around 11 September.
  • 8 September 2026: X began rolling out access for existing Revenue Sharing members to apply to Original Content Rewards.

If you already completed ID verification and had a working payout method connected, X says you do not repeat those steps. And if your monetization was paused over a previous policy violation, you cannot enrol in the new program while that pause stands.

The switch is not just branding. Revenue Sharing paid on ad impressions in replies to your posts, which is why the reply-farming era looked the way it did. Original Content Rewards pays on qualified impressions on your original content in the Home timeline, and explicitly excludes impressions on replies from the eligibility calculation.

Original Content Rewards: the numbers X publishes

To apply, X's help page lists all of the following as required at the time of application:

  • Based in a supported country, and 18 or older.
  • An account in good standing, with no history of repeatedly violating the Monetization Guidelines or Terms of Service.
  • A Personal or Business account type. Political and government organisation accounts are excluded.
  • An active X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription. That makes the X Premium price a cost of entry, not an optional upgrade.
  • At least 500 verified followers.
  • At least 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, with impressions on replies excluded.
  • Actively posting original content as the program defines it.

Meeting the bar does not guarantee admission. You submit an application, X reviews it, and if it is refused you get one appeal. Fail the appeal and you can reapply after 42 days.

On the payment side: payouts process every two weeks and the minimum payout is $30. Qualified impressions are unique impressions from Premium subscribers on the Home timeline where at least 50% of the post was visible, and X excludes repeat impressions from the same account, paid or promoted impressions, and fraudulent ones. Impressions your post picks up from being boosted are excluded from the payment calculation under the program terms.

US creators are paid through X Money, so the wallet side of this matters too, and what X Money is covers what connecting it involves. Everyone else connects a Stripe payout account and completes identity verification through Stripe.

Because payment tracks qualified impressions rather than raw views, there is no honest per-thousand-views figure to quote. Anyone publishing a fixed RPM for this program is guessing. The realistic read on earnings is in how much X pays for views, and the short version is that the multiplier is your share of Premium-subscriber attention, not your view count.

What counts as original content

X spells this out, and the definition is stricter than "I posted it".

Content qualifies when you personally wrote, filmed, designed or produced it and it carries your own voice or expertise. Commentary counts: breaking down a news story or adding context others do not have is original expression under the program. What does not count is content where your contribution is minimal. Specifically excluded are copied content, minimally modified content (a word changed, a filter added, a text overlay), aggregated compilations of other people's work, and cross-platform reposts by someone who is not the original creator.

Separately, content is ineligible if it was created or posted by automated means, if it is exclusively about monetization coaching or maximising payouts, or if it carries a helpful Community Note. That last one is a real mechanism worth understanding, and how Community Notes work explains how a note lands on a post in the first place.

Where automation collides with the program

If you run any kind of tooling on your account, read the ongoing requirements before you apply. The program bans, as conditions of staying eligible:

  • Using automated tools, bots or software to artificially generate likes, follows, views, comments or shares.
  • Tampering with the payout system or the recommendation algorithms.
  • Soliciting engagement by repeatedly telling people to like, reply, bookmark, follow or repost.

Payment terms go further: artificially inflating views by manual, automated or other means means forfeiting the amount due and being removed from the program.

Two things are true at once here, and pretending otherwise would not help you. Drafting, scheduling and writing your own posts faster is a different activity from manufacturing engagement on them, and nothing in the program rules bans composing tools. But automating engagement on X through a browser sits in a gray area under X's automation rules, we do not claim otherwise, and when the account you are automating is also the account collecting payouts, the downside stops being theoretical. If payouts are the goal, keep the automation on your own output and off the engagement metrics that determine what you get paid. An autonomous X agent that drafts and replies from your own browser carries a smaller footprint than a cloud tool posting from a shared IP pool, but smaller is not the same as none, and the program rules above still apply to you.

There is also a cheaper, duller path that works: hitting 500,000 verified-user Home timeline impressions in 90 days is mostly a posting-volume and posting-quality problem. That is roughly 5,500 verified impressions a day, which a consistent account in a real niche reaches long before it reaches 500 verified followers.

Is Creator Studio worth checking regularly

Once a fortnight, yes, and for one reason: it is the only place that shows your eligibility state and your accrued balance against the $30 threshold. Everything else in it duplicates a screen you already had.

The trap is treating the hub as a growth tool. Nothing in Creator Studio makes posts perform better. It reports. The two numbers that gate your payouts, verified followers and verified-user Home timeline impressions, both move from work that happens outside the hub: publishing original posts people actually read, and showing up in the conversations in your niche. If your account is short of the bar, the answer is more of that, not more dashboard.

Frequently asked

Answers indexed by Google + AI assistants.

Where is Creator Studio on X?+

On x.com it sits in the left sidebar, usually under the more icon if your sidebar is short. On the iOS and Android apps, tap your profile picture to open the account menu and pick Creator Studio from the list. X added the mobile entry point in December 2025; the same data had already been available on desktop, just scattered across separate settings screens.

What is inside X Creator Studio?+

Monetization status and estimated earnings, subscription eligibility and activity, account analytics such as impressions and follower growth, payout settings, a Help Center link for monetization questions, and direct support contact for Premium subscribers. There is also an Inspiration tab showing the top performing posts on X globally over the last day, week or month.

Did X Revenue Sharing end?+

Yes. X stopped accepting new enrolments into Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 August 2026 and retired the program on 7 September 2026. Members enrolled at the time got three final payouts: 14 August, 28 August, and a final one for earnings through 7 September paid on or around 11 September. Original Content Rewards is the replacement, and you apply to it from Creator Studio.

What are the Original Content Rewards requirements?+

Per X's help page: be 18 or older, be in a supported country, hold an account in good standing with a Personal or Business account type, hold an active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription, have at least 500 verified followers, and have at least 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, excluding impressions on replies. Political and government organisation accounts are not eligible.

How much does Original Content Rewards pay and how often?+

X pays on qualified impressions rather than a flat per-view rate, so there is no published dollar figure per thousand views. Qualified impressions are unique impressions from Premium subscribers on the Home timeline where at least half the post was visible. Payouts process every two weeks and the minimum payout is $30, so anything you accrue below $30 sits in the balance rather than paying out.

Can I use automation on an account enrolled in Original Content Rewards?+

Not for engagement. The program's ongoing requirements ban using automated tools, bots or software to artificially generate likes, follows, views, comments or shares, and rule content out as non-original if it was created or posted using automated means. Writing and scheduling your own posts is a different activity from manufacturing engagement on them, but automating engagement through a browser is a gray area under X's automation rules and the program rules here are explicit. Read both before you wire anything up.
