Verified Organizations became X Premium Business, one price became two, and Hiring stopped being a headline product and became a bullet in a longer feature list. If you are deciding whether to pay, the question is no longer "is X Hiring worth $1,000" but "is the whole Premium Business bundle worth $200."

#What X Hiring actually is

X's own description is short enough to quote in full. Under the Hiring heading on the Premium Business help page, X says you can "seamlessly integrate jobs from your careers site and make them discoverable to millions of relevant candidates," that Premium Business accounts "can feature key job openings directly on their profile, driving organic traffic to job listings," and that the subscription unlocks "advanced job advertising capabilities, allowing you to target relevant users directly in their timelines" (X Help, Wayback capture 16 September 2026).

Three capabilities, then:

1. An import path. Your existing careers page feeds the listings, so you are not retyping roles into X.
2. Profile placement. Openings render on your profile under the bio, where a visitor sees them without clicking away.
3. Paid distribution. Job ads that put a role into timelines rather than waiting for people to arrive.

Notice what is not in there. No applicant tracking, no candidate database, no AI resume screening, whatever third-party articles claim. If a feature matters to your hiring process and X does not name it on its own page, assume it does not exist until you see it in the product.

#What it costs in 2026

Both tiers list Hiring. The gap between them is affiliations, the affiliate tab on your profile, VIP support and the handle marketplace, not access to job posts. That detail matters because the $1,000 figure that dominates search results is the price of a bundle most hiring teams do not need.

Social Media Today covered the repackaging on 7 October 2025, noting the rename and the new split. X also folds all of X Premium+ into either tier, so SuperGrok, Bookmark Folders, longer posts and reduced ads come with the subscription. Price it as a business account with recruiting attached, not as a job board.

#Where the listings appear

For employers the surface is your profile. A featured role sits below your bio with hiring wording above it, showing the title and location, so the people who already followed you for product news see that you are hiring without you posting about it again.

The seeker surface is murkier. X announced a job search tool on 16 November 2023 and posted on 26 February 2024 that over a million listings were live. Since then the trail goes cold: there is no help-center page for the jobs board, and archived captures of the jobs URL from August 2026 return X's standard "user profile not found" screen rather than a board. That is consistent with the route being removed or moved, though X has not said either.

The practical version for candidates is unchanged:

• Check the profiles of companies you want to work for. Featured roles live there.
• Search the phrase a hiring manager would use, for example "we're hiring" plus a skill, and filter to recent posts.
• Follow the people who do the hiring rather than the brand account. Roles leak into personal timelines first.

#What most articles get wrong

Three claims repeat across the first page of results, and all three are worth a second look.

"X Hiring costs $1,000 a month." That was the single price at launch. Since October 2025 the entry point has been $200 a month, and X's help page lists Hiring under both tiers.

"It is only for verified organizations." The name is retired. X calls the product Premium Business, and government bodies are now under a separate Premium Organizations label. The gold checkmark still comes with it, so the underlying point survives the rename, but searching the old term gets you old information.

"X Hiring is a LinkedIn competitor." It was pitched that way in 2023. What shipped is a set of recruiting features attached to a business subscription, and X has not published listing or hire numbers since February 2024. Treat any comparison table claiming current volume with suspicion unless it links a source dated this year.

#Should you pay for it

Answer honestly for your own situation, because the subscription rewards a specific shape of company.

It is plausible if: you hire continuously, you already have an audience on X, your candidates are developers, designers, traders or founders who live on the platform, and you want the gold checkmark and impersonation defense anyway. At $200 a month the hiring features are effectively a free add-on to a verification and support package you were considering.

It is hard to justify if: you hire twice a year, your audience is somewhere else, or you are hoping the subscription itself creates reach. It does not. X's own wording is about making listings discoverable to people who arrive at your profile, and if nobody arrives, nothing is discovered.

The free version of this is not much worse for small teams. Write the role as a normal post with the salary band, the location policy and one honest sentence about the work, then pin it so it is the first thing on your profile. #Getting the account ready first

If you do subscribe, the profile is doing the selling, not the listing. X reviews Premium Business applications rather than approving them instantly, so the sensible order is to fix the account, then pay.

• Make the bio say what you build and who you hire. Candidates check the bio before the role.
• Post something in the last month. An empty timeline reads as an abandoned account, whatever badge is next to the name.
